Professionally, I have seventeen years’ experience in team leadership,
product management and software development. I gained that experience working for organizations like Dow Jones, Factiva, Inform Technologies, and more. At Factiva, I led a global 30-person team, and was awarded two US patents in search relevance ranking.
In sports, my proudest achievement was being part of the 2004 Olympic eight-oared crew. We set the world record and won Olympic gold in Athens after a 40-year drought in the event. I competed in 2000 Sydney Olympics, was a coach in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and am a four-time world rowing champion. Since “retiring,” I have stayed involved by mentoring aspiring athletes, and as a director of the United States Rowing Association, where I was chairman in 2012 and 2013.
I have a bachelor’s degree in economics from Berkeley. And while I live in San Francisco, I am a die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
